Rules

Asian American Voices seeks to create a space for users to share and discuss topics that promote learning and understanding of Asian American and other immigrant communities. In order to foster productive and meaningful conversation, we ask that users adhere to the following rules and guidelines when participating in our forums.

Keep It Respectful

Please maintain a level of respect when posting. This forum is a space for productive conversation and information sharing. Comments meant to incite arguments or antagonism, or to hurt or offend others, will be promptly removed. Keep conversations focused on the topic of conversation, not the person behind it.

Insults or disparaging remarks based on race, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or any other personal discrimination, will not be tolerated and can lead to immediate suspension.

Any material that appears threatening, abusive, harassing, intimidating, libelous, defamatory, obscene, vulgar, pornographic, profane, or indecent will be removed and can lead to immediate suspension.

Please do not post private information or correspondence pertaining to other users.

Keep It Productive

Please post in the appropriate forum for your topic and refrain from cross-posting similar messages in multiple categories. If an existing thread exists that fits your topic, post your comment there instead of starting a new thread. Please refrain from posting “nonsense” threads.

We know how conversations can meander, but we ask that you stay on topic in the discussions. Off-topic posts may be moved or deleted without notice if we believe they are interfering with the discussion.

Keep It Legit

Posting of any copyrighted material is strictly prohibited.

Any impersonation of a user from these forums, in any mode of communication, is strictly prohibited.

Spamming or use of the forum for commercial promotion is not permitted.

We respect your privacy, but we reserve the right to report unlawful behavior and vandalism of our site to your Internet service provider or to law enforcement.

Moderator Privileges

Violation of any of these rules can lead to banning of the user from the site and/or deletion of the user account.

Site moderators reserve the right to modify, delete, edit or close any topic, signature, account, or profile data that violate the rules, at our sole discretion and without prior notice.

Comments posted on the site represent the views of their authors, not Asian American Voices. We do not endorse the opinions expressed or stand behind the accuracy of information posted in user-generated forums.

Users are responsible for the content they post on this site. While we will do our best to maintain a safe place to have discussions, we are not responsible in any way for the content of the posts, or any actions users may take as a result of the posts.
